The Perfect Outfit
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Colossians 3: 12-14
I enjoy going shopping with my oldest daughter. She has a fun sense of style, and she encourages me to bring color into my wardrobe which gives me a “new look.” Without her encouragement, and sometimes honesty, my closet would be a color range of grays and blacks.
The Bible tells us that God also gives us a “new look” when we invite Him into our life. The Holy Spirit works in us and encourages us to exhibit these virtues to one another. We no longer desire the old self with its practices since we have a new image in Christ (Colossians 3: 9-10).
I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit changes our heart and reminds us who we are in Christ.
Dear God, Thank You for changing us on the inside when we call You our Savior.
