All in Spiritual Discipline
All actions and words begin in our brain. So, if our mind loves the Lord our God it seems that our thoughts and actions will have a great starting point. In Jeremiah 31:33 the Lord declares, "I will put Mylaw in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people."
The Bible warns us we have a spiritual enemy lurking too. And like the snakeskin, we can see warnings. Those might include conviction, a scripture that stands out, or a friend’s concern.
What lesson can we learn from Satan's fall? First, we need to be alert and guard ourselves against our own pride. Satan and his demons love to see prideful Christians. Our testimony is damaged and we are hurt in the long run.
God interrupted the commonplace. The glory of God shattered darkness. A message from an angel broke the silence. The Savior, Christ the Lord, had been born! As shepherds in the field beheld the angel, their initial response was fear. But with the announcement of the birth of the awaited One, fear turned to determination. The shepherds said, Let’s go…and see... (Luke 2:15). They hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the heralded baby lying in a manger.
One simple verse that will be read very differently—depending on which one of two groups you fall into.
Group 1: “’Yes’ is ‘yes’ and ‘no’ is ‘no.’ Got it. Next question?”
Group 2: “Yes, that is true, but I am pretty sure I can make this work.”
