God-given Knowledge

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

He has also set eternity in the hearts of men...

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Mankind is unique among all of God’s creation. Within us, the Lord has placed an innate knowledge that more than this physical world exists. There is more to life than what we see and experience. God has set the knowledge of eternity in our hearts.

That knowledge is meant to draw us to our Creator and to the understanding of the purpose for which we are created—to glorify the Lord God. Every person ever created was designed with a desire to worship. Either we will worship the one true God, or we will worship something else.

Not only has God set eternity in our hearts, but He has also splattered testimony of His reality, His glory, and His power throughout the universe. The heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1). Look around, and you will see the mighty works of our Almighty God.

This Almighty God who created all and rules over all is also a very personal God. He has revealed Himself to you personally that you might draw near to Him and increasingly come to know Him. As you increasingly come to know and worship Him, something happens. That longing for significant purpose deep within you is satisfied. Abiding joy is yours.   

Will you determine this coming year to increasingly come to know the One who created you? His personal revelation of Himself to you is found in every page of scripture. As you behold the personal Lord and Savior in scripture and in creation, will you exalt Him? Glorifying God will fit you perfectly. It’s what you were created to do!

Almighty Lord, thank you for revealing yourself personally to me. Give me a heart-felt desire to increasingly come to know you.
