The Spiritual Journey

The Spiritual Journey

You know everything I do.

Psalm 138:4 NLT

I enjoy travel! I like the variety of places. And I have found it helps to be prepared. If I go to the mountains, I bring long pants and sweaters, preparing for colder temperatures. If I go to the ocean, I bring swimsuits, sundresses and shorts, preparing for hotter temperatures. I research a new place to learn what to bring and what to do while I am there.

You probably do the same.

Have you thought about how to prepare for your life’s spiritual journey with God?

Consider this passage of Scripture…

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I am far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord (Psalm 139:1-4 NLT).

There is no one else who knows me the way God knows me.

Beyond that, He knows about everyone… even the enemy.

So, when I live with a focus on heavenly things, with my spiritual journey in mind, even now while I am on the earth, I realize God has already thought about everything that I need to stand firm against the enemy.

And when I became His child, He equipped me with everything I need spiritually:

· He has given me His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38 NLT) and I am strengthened with power through His Spirit (Ephesians 2:16 NLT).

· He has given me spiritual position by seating me with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6 NLT).

· He has given me spiritual equipment from the armor of God, such as truth like a belt, righteousness like armor, feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God and prayer at all times (Ephesians 6:10-19 CSB).

· God even supplies the spiritual strategy, such as identify evil, resist evil, stand firm in your faith in truth by saying…Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith (1 Peter 5:8-9 NLT).

God knows and He planned ahead for both you and me.

We can live with our eternal purpose in mind – and live victorious!

Just move forward in faith and enjoy the spiritual journey with Jesus!

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… whispering “I know you, love you, have prepared you, equipped you and with Me you can stand firm in faith.” Lord, help me trust in You and live victorious. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
