Are You Limiting God?

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

Ephesians 3:20

Inna wanted to attend a Christian university. 

Knowing her background, one could say this was a pipe dream. 

She grew up in Ukraine, and her parents divorced a few years back. Her mom could barely support Inna and her two sisters. 

And that’s when God stepped in to Inna’s story. 

Through an entirely different set of tragic circumstances, her aunt and uncle had been living in the United States for several years. They raised money to bring Inna to live with them and attend a Christian high school. 

There, she became a Christian and deeply desired to continue her education at John Brown University. 

Even though she received the highest academic scholarship, she didn’t have enough money for rent or food. So, she almost didn’t visit the university. 

Her aunt encouraged her to visit anyway. On that trip, God showed up once again. 

A professor — not associated with her intended major — asked to meet with them. They couldn’t believe what he had to say. 

He had been on the committee to approve Inna’s scholarship. When he read her essay, he felt moved to offer her a room at his house for the first year if she didn’t have the money to live on campus. 

This provision turns out to be better than anything they could have gotten on their own. Inna will start in the fall and have the confirmation of knowing God placed her there. And she doesn’t just have a place to live, she has a family.
