Settled
They cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the Lord…
Psalm 107:6-8a
Good news: My husband got a new job.
Bad news: We had to relocate from the place we had lived for twenty years.
Good news: We got our house ready and put it on the market to sell.
Bad news: Although people came to see it, no one put an offer on it.
Good news: A family did put an offer on it and we accepted it.
Bad news: The closing date got pushed out much further delaying our move.
Good news: We found a house we liked in our new location.
Bad news: Someone else beat us putting a contract on it.
Good news: After the third try we put a contract on a home that was accepted.
The house was perfect for us. God is good.
Have you ever felt like God put verses in the Bible just for you? That is exactly how I felt when God led me to these verses in the book of Psalms. God delivered the people from their trouble and led them to their new city where they could settle. I wrote the verses down and read them daily. I prayed that we were following him in all our decisions.
My greatest desire was to be “settled”. I believed God would lead us there just like he did the children of Israel.
What should my reaction be when God shows me his faithfulness? I will give him thanks just as the Israelites did. Praise the Lord!
Thank you, Lord, for your leadership and guidance in my life. Thank you for leading me to the place where I can settle.
