Privileged

Privileged

May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees. May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous. May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

Psalm 119:171–173

Did you know that I am privileged? I really am. And, lest I sound arrogant or prideful, did you know you are privileged too?

When I view the majesty of God’s artwork in a beautiful sunset, I feel privileged to have seen it. Have you seen one too? Have you experienced His handiwork in a mountain view or at the beach or in your own backyard?

Participating in a Spirit-filled worship service with fellow-Christians fills my heart with joy. What a privilege! God wants us and even goes so far as to command us to worship together. He so blesses us when we do.

Friends sharing about God’s working in their lives. How exciting is that? What a privilege! God knew how much we needed such friends.

Serving God alongside other believers, again, it is such a privilege and such an honor we can all share in.

It is so easy to get down and see the negative when we look around at our world, but as children of God, He gives us the privilege to also see His good. We see it in nature, in our families, in our churches, and many other situations if we look.

For this reason, my lips can overflow with praise. My tongue can sing of His word. I can relish in His righteousness and His precepts. He has me in His hands and He has you too.

Father, your blessings overflow. Just a mere glimpse of your righteousness encourages us to praise and honor You. Thank you for that privilege.
