My Flaws

My Flaws

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

“Do you make decisions easily?” That question stared me in the face and caused me to pause. I had not stumbled over any of the other questions on the personality assessment. The rest just seemed so easy and the answers quite obvious. So why this one?

Do I make decisions easily? Hum, I am just not sure. The last time I made a decision I do not think it took that long or did it? Sometimes I do, sometimes I do not. Maybe, maybe not.

I do not know how long I sat there agonizing over that question before it hit me, if I am having this much trouble just answering the question, I probably do NOT make decisions easily. I just had to laugh at myself right then and there.

It is not always easy to admit my flaws or shortcomings to myself. It is even harder to admit them to others or even worse to God. And yet, that is exactly what God asks me to do in order to have forgiveness of sin.

Now, not making a decision easily may not exactly count as a sin depending on the circumstances, but I can assure you I would not have to look too deeply inside myself to come up with some thoughts or actions which would.

God promises relief from the guilt of my sins and forgiveness for them. Not only that, but He makes me clean.

Do I make decisions easily? Well, maybe not always, but I do have one decision already made -- confessing my sins to a faithful Father who readily forgives.

God, your faithfulness is real. I can believe what You say in Your Word without hesitation.
