The Transparent Woman

The Transparent Woman

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalm 51:1-2

One morning I was in front of my vanity mirror putting on my make-up. My youngest daughter walked up to me with a curious look upon her face.
”Mommy, why do you wear make-up?” she asked.
“So, I can be as beautiful as you” I replied.

The truth is I was trying to hide the flaws of my skin and add some color to an otherwise dull complexion. I was covering up my transparency so the world would think different of me.

Do I go before my Heavenly Father with a transparent heart? When was the last time I allowed Jesus to see the real me?

 Dear Compassionate Father,

Thank You for Your Word and the lives used in the Bible to show us what it means to be transparent. Help us to become open and vulnerable. Give us the boldness to stand bare before You, knowing it will make us more and more like Jesus. When we stand before You with all our imperfections we can have assurance You love us just as we are, flawed and blemished. Even though we are not perfect You continue to love us perfectly!

In Christ Name I Stand (Transparent),
Amen
