Let Your Light Shine!
God is light, in him there is not darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:5-7
My youngest daughter is scared of the dark. She will not walk in a room that is dark even if she is familiar with it. We have to go in and turn on a light for her to feel at peace.
Some people however, do not have a problem walking in a dark room. They have become so familiar to their surroundings that the darkness does not bother them. This is similar to the world in which we live. It is filled with those who do not know Christ and therefore live in the darkness. It does not become apparent to those living in darkness until they are exposed to those living in the light.
As believers we know the only way to stand against the darkness is to stay in fellowship with Jesus. When we enjoy that fellowship we can shine the love of Christ to those who need it most.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help open our eyes to see those around us that are walking in darkness. Give us words of truth and a heart of love for those who need to see Jesus. Thank You for being the Light of the world and giving us the opportunity to carry the Light within us!
