All in Salvation

TGF Friday

Crowded as we were in the car on the way to the airport last spring break, the conversation turned to the upcoming Good Friday service. Grandson number three asked, “What’s Good Friday?” As we explained that it was the day Jesus died on the cross, his puzzled response was, “So, what’s good about that?” At this, the other three of us in the back seat exclaimed in unison: “It was good for us!”

Take it in ladies. The sounds and smells and sights of Christmas are everywhere, tickling my senses. I confess to loving it all. Yes, ’tis the season to be jolly, or happy, or merry—as you wish to express it. For sure the traditional greeting, Merry Christmas, embodies the spirit of celebration for those who love Jesus. Let’s get in the mood with a Merry Christmas Monday.

In But Not Of

I have friends who like to scuba dive. They put on their equipment and plunge into a different world under the sea. The sea isn’t an environment suited to man naturally. However, with the right equipment, it is possible to breathe and explore fascinating things God has created.

Orphans

Yesterday, as I sat on our backyard deck and basked in the warmth of the Son, God moved my heart to praise Him. I'd just returned from a gathering of women who were assembled to learn about a local organization that supports teenage girls in foster care.

Utmost Anxiety

Our first grandchild, barely over a year old, had somehow broken a front tooth. We could not figure out how it happened because his tooth had barely come through the surface of his gums when our daughter discovered it.
