God Hold Me
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delight in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.
Psalm 37:23-24 (NIV)
“Mommy, hold you,” or “Mommy, I want you.” Sweet. precious words from my little girls when they wanted me to pick them up and hold them. I would immediately stop what I was doing, pick them up, and keep them close to me.
I loved hearing them say those sweet words because I love my children and feel close to them. If I love hearing these words, “hold you,” how much more does God desire to hear it from us–“God, I want You, God hold me?”
Throughout scripture we read how God promises to hold us.
“For I am the Lord you God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you”(Isaiah 41:13).
As my girls grew over the years, picking them up and holding them became challenging. However, that is never the case with God. “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who sustains you, I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you” (Isaiah 46:4).
Allow God to hold you!
Dear Father, help me come to You with childlike faith and desire for You to hold me close. Thank You for loving me so much.
