Eyebrows! Who Would Have Thought?
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements, and his paths beyond tracing out! For from him and through him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen
Romans 11:33 & 36 NIV
“Tida! What are these?” I glanced up to see to what my grandson referred. He had the strangest look as he pointed to his face. He then began touching his eyebrows as if he had never noticed them.
“Eyebrows,” I answered. “I have them, too.” He curiously responded with, “Well, what do they DO?”
His second question caught me off guard. I had not thought about the purpose of eyebrows before. I soon learned that they do have a job. They keep water, sweat, and dust out of our eyes. Eyebrows also help our faces show emotions.
After this conversation with my grandson, I could not help but marvel at God's thoughtfulness. He put each little intricate detail of our body together so that it would function properly.
Eyebrows, who would have thought? God did. He knew. He did not just haphazardly throw them in. He created us intentionally. My human brain cannot even fathom how he designed our bodies in such a fashion.
“For from him and through him are all things. To him be glory forever!”
Even though I might not understand the vastness of his knowledge and wisdom, I can praise him for his omniscience. He is a glorious, intentional God.
Why, he even thought of eyebrows!
Father, we may not be able to understand your incredible wisdom and knowledge, but we stand amazed in your presence and give you all the glory.
