That Does Not Look Good
Always trust the Lord completely. Do not think that your own wisdom is enough.
Proverbs 3:5 EASY
My little dog, Buddy, was recently attacked by a much bigger and stronger dog. The veterinarian performed surgery to save Buddy's life. He had a wickedly long incision on his underside. The veterinarian told me to let him know if the incision became infected.
Now, I have raised three children. We had our fair share of broken bones, seizures, minor scrapes, and childhood illnesses. No one had surgeries, so I had no frame of reference for treating major wounds.
A couple of days after Buddy’s surgery, the skin around the stitches turned red and puffy while some became white. This does not look right, I thought. I returned to the animal clinic. Inspecting the incision, the veterinarian said, “It looks good. It is healing like it is supposed to. The white skin may slough off, and there may be a hole for a while but that is normal.”
Normal? I had my doubts. I checked the area each day. It didn’t look good. In fact, it looked worse! The white skin was replaced by a gaping hole. I’m trusting you, Mr. Veterinarian! I kept reminding myself that he had more experience and knowledge than I did. Sure enough, the incision healed and the hole closed.
Ladies, are there areas in your lives today that look questionable or downright out of control? Do they look worse instead of better?
Trust God and His process. It is not always easy, is it? When the plans we have are frustrated. When we feel overwhelmed with pain or sadness or loneliness. When life looks like a complete mess.
Always trust the Lord completely. Do not think that your own wisdom is enough (Proverbs 3:5 EASY). God has plans and ideas that far exceed our limited wisdom.
Dear one, our Great Physician is skillfully at work in your life and in those around you stabilizing, repairing, stitching, and healing as He sees fit. Trust Him. He is able.
