Sheltering In Place
…a place for you….
John 14:3 ESV
I breathe a sigh of contentment when reflecting upon this statement:
As believers, we have been granted all that we need
to be what God has called us to be
and to do the things God has called us to do
in the place where He has put us.
Move forward in the certainty that He is with us, for us and in us.
This God of awesome power will grant power to do what is needed. *
How reassuring to rest in God’s sovereignty knowing He has been actively involved in choosing the places where I’ve experienced my time on Earth—both the places I have loved and the ones I was eager to leave! I’m confident-by-faith that He will continue to grant the power to live each day in the place and in the home where He has put me.
For today, though, I’ll continue gathering memories and traveling through these places until I eventually find my way to the ultimate location Jesus left to prepare for each believer. Jesus spoke of it and of His Father as He sought to comfort his disciples shortly before His crucifixion.
In my Father’s house are many rooms (abodes/dwellings/resting places.) If it were not so would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself that where I am you may be also (John 14:2, 3 ESV).
What a reassuring promise—an eternal destination and an eternal place for me and for all who know God as Father! Not only that, but also His promise to come again and to take us there!
Thank You, Jesus, for Your words of comfort for your disciples and for John recording them for us. Remind me of this glorious destination on the days my own feet grow weary or my soul needs comforting.
