Hearing God in the Quiet

Hearing God in the Quiet

Jesus said …

Whoever is of God hears the words of God.

John 8:47 ESV

Can you hear God?

At times, even as God’s child it can be hard to hear Him.

Doubt.

Sin.

Disobedience.

These things can cause a temporary separation from God so you cannot hear Him for awhile.

(Jesus is speaking)

But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.

Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?

Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.  (John 8:45-47 ESV).

Jesus brings healing so that you can hear Him. Believe Him.

But you have to be real … with yourself … with Jesus.

You have to believe Jesus and believe in Jesus.

Jesus knows if you do.

Is there doubt … sin … disobedience? Repent. Ask for forgiveness. And turn back to God.

Do you know what God’s voice sounds like?

The Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was a voice, a soft whisper. When Elijah heard it, he … went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Suddenly, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:12-13 CSB)

God’s voice is … a soft whisper.

To hear God, you have to know how to listen.

Listen for the whisper, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

Father, You are showing me in Your Word that You do want me to hear You. And Your message to me is that You love me and want me to turn to you.  In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
