The Stamp

The Stamp

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ.

Galatians 3:26

Valentine’s Day was just a week away and it was time to make cards expressing our love and appreciation to those close to us. Another fun event that we also participated in during this holiday was partnering with our local Chrisitan radio station and making Valentine cards for the children and seniors in the hospitals.

Sitting at the dining table surrounded with construction paper, stickers, stamps, glitter, and markers, I was amazed at watching creativity take shape into each card. My youngest daughter was excited to show me one of her cards completely covered in heart stamps. There must have been a hundred stamps plastered all over her card. She was so proud!

Watching my daughter wave her card in the air, showing off her art work, I was reminded that this is what God does for us. The moment we ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior, God puts a stamp on us claiming that we are now a child of His.

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father’. So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir (Galatians 4:6-7).

Have you been stamped by God?

Dear Father,
Thank you so much for calling me Your child!
