Snowflakes

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; Romans 12:6-8

Each snowflake that falls from the sky is a tiny, intricate marvel —no two exactly alike in their crystalline patterns. In the same way, God has created each of us as unique individuals, imparted with our own special combination of spiritual gifts. Romans 12:6-8 reminds us that "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us." Just as each snowflake reflects light in its own shimmering way as it drifts down from the heavens, we are each called to use our God-given gifts to reflect His glory in our own special way. For some, that may be the gift of prophetic insight to boldly speak truth. For others, it is the gift of selfless service or teaching, passionately explaining the deep truths of Scripture. But all are essential, and all are beautiful in God's sight. There is no insignificant or unimportant God-given gift. Different cultures, backgrounds, and interests also play a role in how our gifts are used or delivered for God’s glory. In an awe-inspiring blanket of fresh snow, it is not a single snowflake that creates the breathtaking vista - but millions upon millions of them, each doing its small part. In the same way, it is only when every believer is exercising their unique spiritual gifts in harmony that the full majesty of the Body of Christ is revealed. Today, consider the special gifts God has given you and how you might use them for His glory, shining bright in your own marvelous way.

Lord, thank you for the gift You have allotted me and for creating me uniquely. I am grateful that Your love and knowledge of us is as intricate and detailed as a snowflake. May I remember to be a servant leader this season. Though I am a small part of a heavenly design, my role is important in growing the Kingdom.
