God Notices You: When Grieving

God Notices You: When Grieving

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also
weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
John 11:33

Some of the best movies are the ones that get you to feel intense emotions. While in the
midst of the climactic scene, tears are strolling down our face, because deep inside of
us we can sympathize with what the character is going through.

It is comforting to know Jesus can sympathize with us when our hearts are broken.

Jesus found out that His good friend Lazarus was sick, to the point of death. He
responds, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son
may be glorified through it” (John 11:4).

Even though Jesus knew the outcome of Lazarus’ life (he would be raised from the
dead) Jesus still had compassion for those who loved Lazarus, to the point of weeping
with them.

Yes, my friend, Jesus notices us when we are grieving and our heart is broken. The
Bible tells us in Psalm 56:8 that God writes our tears down on a scroll. “Record my
misery, list my tears on your scroll - are they not in your record?” In Malachi 3:16, it tells
us that a scroll of remembrance is written in His presence.

I am so thankful that we get to see this compassionate side of Jesus.

Thank You God for Your great comfort when we are grieving.
