GUARDED

GUARDED

You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

I Peter 1:5

Do you sometimes feel alone in your Christian faith while the world around you takes great pleasure in criticizing your beliefs? It is challenging to stand firm during these days of turmoil in our world while this long-lasting pandemic has become a reality and has robbed us of normalcy.

But while our faith is being tested, others are watching while we walk out our Belief.

I encourage and motivate you today to accept that no matter what your circumstances may be or how isolated you may feel, God’s power prevails as we walk through these days.

I gather strength through God’s Word by remembering Apostle Peter’s great efforts to write letters while in prison in Rome. He knew he needed to encourage and instruct fellow Christ followers, who were also being persecuted, during the formation of the early Church. Asia Minor, now modern day Turkey, was being turned upside down by the early Christian movement.

Peter wasn’t always strong and stalwart. We learn that through his failures, he learned to trust and depend on God’s power for protection––even if the outcome was different than he had initially hoped.

Pridefully, he once asked Jesus if he was the favorite in front of the other disciples. He became militant in the Garden of Gethsemane when he drew a sword to protect Jesus during the arrest by the Roman soldiers. He even denied knowing Christ the night of His crucifixion for fear of being arrested.

Peter learned these lessons while living with Jesus. How incredibly strong is the one who learns about the power of God when she has never actually seen Jesus!

Be happy today that those who have accepted Christ’s grace gift of salvation, through faith in Him, are guarded by God’s great power! I encourage you to be grateful that the same magnificent power that rose Jesus Christ from the dead is guarding you and yours.
