What a Relief!
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus , the author and perfecter of our faith…
Hebrews 12:2
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Phillipians 3:14
When I looked up I found myself on the wrong side of the road, in the wrong lane. It scared me half to death.
It started out innocently enough. I saw a bug inside my car right beside my window. I rolled my window down and tried to flick it out. It did not budge so I kept looking down while I tried to get it out of my car. Next thing I knew I had drifted out of my driving lane into the other one. What a dangerous thing to do.
Fortunately, no one drove toward me in the other lane. Usually the early morning traffic made that road extremely busy. What a relief to not have a serious accident. What a relief to get back into my own lane.
Nothing like a minor distraction to get me way off track. Life gets busy. If I get caught up in the business of things (even those which are worthy) and take my eyes off Jesus I can find myself on the wrong track.
When I look up and see myself dangerously on that wrong path anxiety sets in immediately. But moments later as I fix my eyes back on Jesus, He meets me there. As usual He is ready to continue to “perfect” me until I get to that “heavenward prize for which God has called me.” What a relief to get back on the right track!
What a relief!
Lord, You are the author of salvation. I praise your wonderful name. Thank you for always sticking with me allowing me to keep my eyes on You.
