What a Savior!

What a Savior!

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
Hebrews 12:2

Christmas is about _________. Would you say Christmas is about presents, lights, families gathering…? Many words could fill that blank, but only one word fits that blank best—Jesus! Christmas is about Jesus!

On this Christmas day let us fix our eyes upon our unique Savior, Jesus.

No other birth has been like His. Being in very nature God, He humbled Himself and became man. He became like us that we might become like Him. He was born of a virgin, heralded by angels, and worshiped by shepherds and wise men. We worship Immanuel, who came to men of every race, language, and status.

No other life has been like His. With all the forces of evil teamed against Him, tempting Him throughout His earthly life to sin, He remained holy. He alone has never sinned. From eternity past to eternity future, Jesus has been and always will be holy.

No other death has been like His. Jesus, God’s spotless Lamb, willingly laid down His life. He died and then powerfully rose defeating the enemy, sin, and death. He was born that He might die, making a way for all men to have new, eternal life in Him.

No other person worshiped by men is like the Lord Jesus Christ. The bodies of other religious leaders are in their graves. They were but men. Their philosophies may impress temporarily, but they cannot permanently transform lives. Christians worship an empty tomb! Jesus’ infinite resurrection power lives within us, increasingly transforming us and giving us confident hope.

No other king reigns over all. The throne Jesus temporarily left, He now occupies in glory. He will one day return and every knee will bow before Him.

Let’s bow our hearts before Him on this His day and worship Jesus—Immanuel, God with us. He came that we might know Him. He lived that we might follow Him. He died that we might live. He rose that we might reign with Him forever. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
