Ordinary to Extraordinary

We will all be transformed!

1 Corinthians 15:51 NLT

I have always been amazed at the transformation of the caterpillar to the beautiful butterfly!

One minute, it is crawling as a plain worm… to later fluttering in the air as a colorful butterfly. The same little creature has two very distinctly different bodies that do very different things.

This makes me think of Paul’s explanation…

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die, our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. (1 Corinthians 15:50-53 NLT).

Jesus is all about change.

In the future, He will change my outward appearance by transforming me from a mortal to an immortal body.

But today, He changes my heart from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).

He changes my character by removing my old self and putting on my new self (Ephesians 4:22-24).

He changes my life from being dead to sin, and alive in Christ (Romans 6:11).

He changes my focus from being fruitless to being fruitful (Matthew 21:43).

When I think back over my life, I can see the progress Jesus has made in me.

I am still a work in process and Jesus is in the process of changing me.

And I am amazed to see how Jesus is transforming me to be more like Him.

Transforming me from something ordinary to extraordinary!

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… whispering, “I love you, seek to be more like Jesus.” Thank You for loving me, caring about me and changing me into something extraordinary! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
