Full Circle Love

he who loves God must love his brother also.

 1 John 4: 21

I have two warm memories of my mother’s final days.

The first memory is massaging her hands with my favorite scented lotion. It was a simple way to demonstrate my love. This small gesture, comforted me, even if she was not aware of my presence.

The second memory was overhearing the kind words of a young woman as she cared for Mother. She told me, “Your mother was my teacher. When I discovered I was pregnant, I transferred to her school. She helped me through a very hard time in my life. It is an honor for me to care for her during this difficult time in hers.”

John the Apostle had the privilege of witnessing and experiencing Christ’s love-in-action. He wrote in 1 John 4:19, 21, how God’s love for us not only flows to us and through us to others but also allows us to love God back with the same love He has shown to us! We love Him because He first loved us. …he who loves God must love his brother also.

God’s-love-in-action, is the essence of God!

Our Heavenly Father’s expressive love continually envelopes our lives—whether we are conscious of it or not. Remembering this prompts me to acknowledge my waywardness, to worship with a humbled, undeserving heart, and to seek to glorify Him with my life by demonstrating God's-love-in-action each day.

 Would you join me?
