Armor of God
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6: 11-12
Being a child of God puts a target on our back, and Satan will take aim for it. The Bible warns us that the devil is like a prowling lion ready to attack. Jesus reminds us that our enemy is a “murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
While struggling with secondary infertility, Satan told me many times that the reason for my situation was because I was not a good wife. He nearly convinced me I was a horrible mother to my child. He would whisper lies that I was being punished because I did not measure up to God’s expectations He had for me.
The devil’s desire was for me to hold on to jealousy, bitterness, and resentment toward my friends, husband, and ultimately God.
The enemy’s goal is to make us feel defeated, however he has no victory. God has given us everything we need to fight the accuser - the Armor of God!
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand. Stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:13-17).
