Trusting in God’s Hands
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Isaiah 41:13
My six-year old daughter was in the bathroom staring in the mirror with tears rolling down her face. She was torn with emotions of fear and courage trying to wiggle out her extremely loose tooth.
My husband was standing there encouraging her to just keep trying and what a great job she was doing at being brave. The battle of emotions with losing her very first tooth, was more than she could handle on her own. My husband gently asked her, “Can Daddy help you?” With complete trust in him, she nodded her head and sat in my husband’s lap. As my husband wrapped his big arms around her and looked my daughter in the eye, he asked, “Do you trust Daddy?” Without hesitation she nodded, as tears continued to fall.
With one quick jerk, he pulled the tooth out. It was so easy for him. Cheers and praises could be heard all throughout the house as we celebrated the success of losing her very first tooth!
Once my daughter realized she did not have to do the task on her own, her fear disappeared. She trusted that her loving, caring, and protective Daddy was right there to hold her and help her through it.
So it is with our Heavenly Father. We can trust Him with our fears and concerns.
Isaiah reminds us of this promise from God. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
Dear Father,
Thank You for this reminder that You are always ready and willing to take us in Your arms and help us through our journey.
