Trusting God in the Waiting

The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the water receded.
Genesis 7:24-8:1

Did you catch that? God remembered Noah.
Noah and his family had to trust God at His word that they would survive through the storm. God was destroying the whole earth; all except those on the ark would be saved. Outside the walls of the ark was darkness, chaos, and death. Noah relied on God’s faithfulness to carry him through the uncertainty.

Have you been through a situation where you were waiting on God? Challenged by the silence of waiting for God to move, speak, or provide?

Yes, I have been there too.
During my four years of struggling with secondary infertility, my faith in God was strengthened during the years of silence as I waited. I leaned on Him in ways I never had before.

Noah walked closely with God. He trusted in His timing to close the door of the ark and allow the waiting to begin. He also trusted God to open it when the timing was right. The Scripture tells us that, “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith” (Hebrews 11:7).

Dear Father,
I ask that You help us trust You during our time of uncertainty. That we can have the same kind of faith as Noah trusting You in things not yet seen and resting in assurance that You will remember us as we wait.
