Knowing God
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God.
2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT
Do you feel invisible sometimes? As though, no one sees you.
Or really knows the real you.
God sees you…
Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me” (Genesis 16:13 NLT).
God sees YOU. The real you.
And God knows you…
All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely (1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT).
God knows YOU completely.
But is it a struggle to think you can know God?
I don’t mean know about Him … I mean, do you really know Him?
Consider this…
We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do.
We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT).
God gives His people spiritual weapons. But why?
God’s weapons stop the things that … keep you from knowing God … because you are to know God.
Do you hear that? You are to know God.
And God even helps you know Him …
But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us (1 Corinthians 2:10-12 NLT).
I am so thankful that you and I receive God’s Spirit, the Spirit of truth, by faith in God’s Son, Jesus …
(Jesus said) “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Helper is the Spirit of truth …” (John 14:16 NASB20).
Ask Jesus to help you know God better.
Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me and explain that there is a spiritual war between darkness and light. It is a war of thought. Jesus gives me weapons (The Spirit of truth) to destroy the arguments against knowing You, because I am to know You. You see me and You do know me. Help me know you better. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
