God Knows
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
I Peter 1:6
I have one dear “sister friend” who often says the comforting words, “God knows.” She doesn’t know these two words are a treasure to me. I don’t tell her, but I remember the specific times she has said them to me when her words were a gift.
Two words—spoken with such sincerity—are healing. An echo in my mind says, “I know your circumstances and God knows them too, but I am with you and praying for you. You don’t even have to tell me the details.”
How are you today? Are you having your ups and downs? You may have a list of challenging circumstances.
The fear of uncertainty is ordinary.
It’s okay if you’re not doing well today.
It’s really okay.
Just rest in your unrest.
Some days when we think we can’t go much further are sometimes beneficial days because we learn to just soak in the feeling of unrest. It’s all right, and it may just be where God wants us to be.
He teaches us during these times how to surrender all of our feelings, and to go through the emotions. He trains us.
Our fears, our people, our possessions and our hopes are His concerns, too. The act of surrender eventually brings strength and victory!
Jesus, we greatly rejoice in your words of comfort. Help us, Father, and help us to sometimes just be content where you have placed us now. Hold us close, Lord.
