Unexpected Blessing
I will send down showers in season, there will be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26b
Before leaving East Texas, I had a dentist appointment. When I shared the details of our move with my dentist I found out she had taught at the dental school in Houston. Without hesitation she recommended a dentist she knew and had as a student. I quickly put the contact information in my phone so as not to lose it.
A week or so after our move I opened our mailbox to find an advertisement from this very same dentist my other one had told me about. When I checked out the address I realized the office was located only about fifteen minutes from our house and on a road I had already driven on a couple of times. I could not believe it. What a blessing!
Now, I realize some might question blessing or coincidence? I firmly believe blessing. Blessing that my other dentist knew someone to refer, blessing that I was already familiar with the location, blessing that I received the advertisement for the very same dentist.
I just cannot believe any of these incidents were coincidences. I believe God showered down a blessing just in the season I needed it the most. I may have changed locations, but God showed me He certainly has not. He is still right here with me just like always.
Blessing or coincidence? You choose. I hope you will agree with me though that this seemingly small blessing made a huge impression on my “afraid of change” heart.
Wow, God, You “showered me” just when I needed it. I bask in your blessings. I am refreshed by them.
