The Gift that Keeps Giving: Part 2
The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
Titus 2:11
In the desert there was enough grace to feed Israel for another day. In the temple sacrifices there was enough grace to procure forgiveness for God’s people for another year. In the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, there was enough grace to forgive our sins, transform our lives and lead us to our eternal home.
The traditions of Christmas call for gifts and treats all around. The sweet stories of the season end with goodness restored and peace enshrined. However, the real Christmas story celebrates the most lavish and lasting of gifts and the happiest ending of all. We have the life of Christ as our example, the power of His resurrection over sin and death and His Holy Spirit to make His example and power operable in our lives. And all these gifts are freely offered to anyone who will accept them.
