IN THE BENT OF THE TWIG

"She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."
    Proverbs 31:27

I know that God's ideal is to allow each child to grow up "in th way he should go." It just takes less time to expect them to do things my way, instead of their way.

    I watch over,
    I hover,
    with a bird's-eye view,
    watch the family,
as each grows in the way he should do.
In each one's bent, a twig so fragile.
One plods along, the other's agile.
Prod a little here, but allow that mistake.
Applaud a small success..."you sure are great!"

A thought of idleness? No time to relax.
This "family watching" keeps me hopping to the max.

And time set aside for each child is time well spent, no matter how busy my schedule seems. Soon they will be gone. Later…I will rest.
