Tell Them

Tell Them

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.”

Lamentations 3:22

One of my most treasured grandmother memories was when my first grandchild was three years old. I was a substitute teacher for her church missions Kabam class. When I introduced myself to the group as her grandmother, she innocently said, “Tell them how you love me.” She is now a gifted young musician, writer and scholar. She looks forward to serving orphans and widows on mission trips each summer. Etched in my memory, her innocent statement urges me to tell others about my love story with Christ. The vastness of his individual love is unique for each follower and should be shared. (Ephesians 3:14-21)

HIS LOVE

wooed my heart early in life toward him. (Psalm 71:5)

led me to my husband. (Psalm 1:1-3)

promoted me to motherhood. (Psalm 37:4)

melted my heart when I began to study scripture. (2 Timothy 3;17)

taught me how to pray. (Luke 11:2 & John 17)

revealed the promise of my redemption and eternal life. (Romans 7:24-8:2)

surrounded me with lifelong friends. (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

covered me with peace through a cancer journey. (Psalm 29:11)

trained me to learn how to stand firm against evil. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

HIS LOVE CONTINUES TO

calm me in times of trouble and fear. (Joshua 1:9)

sustain me in times of brokenness. (Proverbs 18:10)

carry me through dark hours of waiting. (Zephaniah 3:17)

show me his character in nature. (Psalm 8)

give me joyful worship through music. (Psalm 118:14)

fill my cup through the love of grandchildren. (Proverbs 17:6)

showers me with the knowledge of his continual presence. (Luke 14:15)

I encourage you to faithfully tell others how Christ loves you. Your heart will be strengthened. Recount the stories. Relive the memories—even the painful ones. Tell them.
