Yesterday we read Hebrews 12:1 and discussed avoiding encumbrances and the sin that entangles us. Today, we will discover how to persevere so we can run the race marked out in our Christian lives.
During this holiday season, we hear and see the proclamation of Jesus' birth everywhere we go. There are ornaments reflecting the heralding of the angels, Christmas music rejoicing His birth, manger scenes, "Christ is the reason for the season" slogans. Yet, do we really fix our eyes on Jesus and the impact He makes on our world?
Hebrews 12:2 reminds us He is the author and perfecter of faith. He "pioneered" the path of faith Christians should follow. He "perfected" the way of faith since He reached its end successfully. He focused His eye on the joy set before Him where He obtained an eternal throne. As believers we share in that joy and must keep it in view. This will also be our final victory.
Therefore, share the joy of Christ and the reason for the season, with those in your family, your workplace and your neighborhood.
