"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first
to throw a stone at her." JOHN 8:7
Another grateful heart. Another woman of the town. Only this one
is dragged out into the street, caught in the act! Accused by
man and the Law. Guilty. A big Scarlet Letter "A"! That
was the Law. Death was the punishment.
Of course Jesus knew the Law. And He knew the consequences. He
knew that none of us is without sin. He knew that each one there
deserved death. A stone's throw away!
But Jesus had another way. The way of Love. So no stones were
thrown that day. Instead, I can see Him gathering up those stones
to litter the path to the cross. No need for that stone anymore...she
knows Me!
Was she grateful? You bet she was. Am I grateful? I am. The Law
will condemn me every time. It is the Love of my Lord that has
cast down the stones along the way to Calvary.
