LORD'S REQUIREMENTS

He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8

Hi! I'm glad you're back with me this glorious fall morning. The trees in East Texas are beginning to turn brilliant shades of orange and red. Fall is a wonderful time to focus on God's majesty and sing His praises.

Perhaps you memorized our Bible verse for today by singing it as a chorus in church. In our confused and topsy-turvy society, these principles seem to have been abandoned by not only unbelievers but unfortunately believers as well. As believers, we may be fearful to stand firm in the courts, because we don't have the confidence that justice will prevail. We want to love kindness, but often we question the motive of the giver. In corporate America, power plays and politics often crush those who walk humbly.

The Lord speaks powerfully with one-step commands; do justice, love kindness and walk humbly. The final three words, "with your God?" tells us to demonstrate this loyalty to Him. It also confirms to us that He can provide us the strength and power we need to follow His requirements.

Sing or hum this chorus throughout the day as a quiet reminder.
