AT HOME IN PRAISE
"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer
to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess His name."
(Hebrews 13:15)
A large part of my quiet time everyday is spent in praise and worship.
Intercession for others and prayers of petition for ourselves are very
important to God, but he really enjoys hearing us tell Him how much we
love Him.
Isaiah 43:7 informs us that we were "created to praise." Jesus
said in Mark 12:30 that the greatest commandment is to "Love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
God is at home in our praises. When God is at home in praise He does what
He wants to do and is not held back by our human failures. We can't fail
Him in our praise. I like to think about this as the one thing I can do
which will never hurt anyone and it pleases the One who deserves it the
most.
"O, Lord, I do love you, and I know that you are worthy of every good
thing I can say about you. Your grace and mercy never fail and You are
always abundant in your blessings to me."
