PROPER BALANCE
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. PHILIPPIANS 2:3
Hi, I'm glad to be back with you this week. I've learned a new lesson or two since I talked to you a couple of weeks ago.
Five years ago when I first went back to work, my director reported to one of two vice-presidents in our company. Today she has three people to go through to get approval for major purchases, requests for continuing education seminars and new programs. It is real easy to get in the habit of talking about how we (staff) could have a better, more efficient and more profitable department without so many people making decisions for us. This past week I realized that I had developed an "attitude". WRONG!!
God's Word reminded me very clearly that I was being selfish and conceited. It is my responsibility to regard my administrators with respect and recognize that they are more important than me. They have the big picture of what's going on and my view is very limited especially when I'm looking in a mirror.
Have you been looking in the mirror too long? God's perspective will
keep you in proper balance. See you tomorrow.....
Joy
