Peaceful Slumber

Winds of trouble, were brewing that day,
The disciples not knowing, as they sailed on their way.
Not one of them saw, a need for concern,
Nor did they know, the lesson to be learned.

As Jesus lay sleeping, in the boat that night,
The disciples were struggling, with all of their might.
Fear had set in, as the winds tossed about,
As our Lord remained peaceful, while others would shout.

"Oh Lord please awake, You must help, can't you hear,
The thunder is crashing, our deaths drawing near.
Lightning surrounds us, the sky bright as day,
Who knows where we're drifting, our ships blown astray."

As our Savior awoke, He shouted aloud,
"Don't be afraid, it's merely a cloud."
Then softly He spoke, His voice filled with peace,
"There's no need for fear, by my choice this will cease."

So we must be willing, to face winds of pain,
By faith still believing, He shines through our rain.
No matter the trial, how great or how small,
By the timing of His Love, all is calm by His call.

Dear Lord,
May the calm of Your Love always rest upon us, bringing us restful peace.
In Jesus's name, Amen.
Love,
Tammie
