With all the digging and blasting and hauling and refining, neither the United Verde claim nor the Little Daisy mine at Jerome, Arizona, would have any value unless something was done with the copper. The ore was useful only as it was shaped into pipes for plumbing, or electrical wire, or telegraph cable, or the many other purposes for which it was designed.
James said it. The word of God can save me, test me, and refine me. It can show me the way to live a righteous life. But it is not just for my benefit. It is up to me to do what it says, or I will be deceiving myself. I must fulfill the purpose for which I was designed.
So what can I do? I can:
--drop in on a friend
--prepare extra for supper and take it to a neighbor
--write a note of encouragement
--call my brother
--hug a co-worker
--spend an hour at the outreach center
--pray for my family
And I can do it today, instead of tomorrow. It will only take a moment but it may bless a heart.
