It's summer, it's hot and the fish are biting. My husband and three sons have been enjoying fishing every available moment since school has been out. I finally wet my hook yesterday. It was time to make time to go fishing. I baited, waited and became elated each time I reeled in a fish. During the waiting, I had time to reflect on Jesus' command for us to be fishers of men.
To be a fisher of men, we first have to make time to go fishing. Sharing the message of Jesus Christ with others requires that we set aside time to minister to them. Sometimes, we must be simply be available when the opportunity presents itself.
Summer is a wonderful time to plan events with your friends and family. Picnics, sporting events, backyard barbeques and homemade ice cream dessert parties are great ways to enjoy those lazy days of summer. Sit back, relax and allow the Holy Spirit to salt your conversations with the wonderful news of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are unsure of what to say...refer to the homepage and click on "Knowing God." The basic steps to sharing Christ are presented and easy to remember. Most importantly, allow your heart to simply share your personal experience and leave the rest up to the Lord.
Join me tomorrow as we talk about Baiting the Hook.
