As we approach the end of this week, I want to FOCUS on Survival. Your personal survival. In the midst of the busy summer vacation, don't forget that you can not give to others if your own tank is empty.
Our goal as mothers is to instruct our children in love with a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith. The only source to replenish what we give out, is from the Lord. Don't neglect your own personal spiritual fellowship and growth this summer. The opposite of survival is chaos. Without Jesus, all of life is chaos.
Here are some suggestions for your own survival:
1. Enjoy the fresh summer morning with a wake-up call to meet with the Lord in your favorite place at home. Mine is our front porch with a cup a coffee and the sunrise.2. Take a walk with your spouse with a good friend at least twice a week and share what God has done in your life.
3. Soak in a bubble bath after a day at work and listen to an uplifting Christian tape.
4. Take a vacation day for yourself each month of the summer. Shop, pittle, have lunch with your friends, go to a day spa, read a book, watch a movie, play tennis, complete a craft project.....or whatever you want to do!!!!!! My list could go on and on and on.
5. Take time out to spend with your husband alone on a date at least once a month. Plan a trip to the zoo and a picnic, go to a summer musical, a concert at the park or a favorite sporting event.
Again, I am asking you to send me your own suggestions for personal survival during the summer months. E-mail me and I will include them throughout the summer on this website. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Have a wonderful and happy summer.
