Forever Best Friend

I knew when I felt You, the glimpse that remained,
Hidden deep in my thoughts, till the time I could claim,
That there must be something, to this knot in my heart,
Continuing to surface, although time apart.
I didn't even know, what Your name was for years,
In spite of the times, You brought me to tears.
The taste of Your Love, was like honey to me,
Giving me strength, helping me see.

There were times in my life, when I couldn't cope,
When You came and You blessed me, with sprinkles of Hope.
Then I began searching, hoping to find,
This presence of Peace, could forever be mine.

I talked with You daily, the times You were there,
Not realizing the Love, You offered with care.
This friendship was different, it was special, You see,
You brought with it comfort, and strength to give me.

Praise God, that day came, the end of my search,
An evening of shear Joy, in that warm Lovefilled church.
When I came to know Jesus, my forever best friend,
A lifelong companion, promised never to end. . . .

Dear Lord, Thank you for continuing to be my best friend, even though I don't always own up to my part. Amen
