An Autobiography in Five Short Paragraphs

Day 1: I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am helpless. I am lost. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find my way out.

Day 2: I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in. I can't believe I'm in the same place. But it isn't my fault. It still takes me a long time to get out.

Day 3: I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there. I still fall in. It is a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

Day 4: I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Day 5: I walk down a different street.

I found this recently and wanted to share it with you today. What does it say to you? I close with today's verse:

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me...? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 7:15,24-25

Thank you, Lord, for enabling me to walk down a different street.
