NETWORKING FOR JESUS

"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25

Today's best method for locating information, finding jobs or reliable employees is through "networking." The idea is that "who you know" may be more beneficial than "what you know".

In the modern office today, chaos often determines the day's events. Appointments, phone calls and deadlines must be met. In some offices people work side by side without ever knowing anything about their personal lives.

Often Christians have remained isolated from other Christians in their workplace. Sometimes we are silent about our relationship with Christ, therefore those we work with may also be silent. That needs to change. We need a relationship with other Christians at work. We need to feel the dynamic power of Christ in our offices.

God may want to do something through us and He will not or cannot do it through only one. Together we can share and pray with different insight and knowledge.

Here are a few suggestions for the "network" of Christians in your workplace:

    1. Pray for those in authority over you.
    2. Pray for individuals who need to know Christ.
    3. Take specific problems to the Lord and seek His guidance.
    4. Discuss the application of Scripture to work practices.
    5. Pray for each other and specific concerns.

You may need to meet before work or during your lunch break in order to "network".
Sometimes, if a specific meeting time is not possible for a group, share as you can on an individual basis with one another. Then pray during your personal quiet time.

Christ changes lives. When you network with other believers, you will be able to see God at "work". (Pun intended!)
