"FOR WE ARE TAKING PAINS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, NOT ONLY IN THE EYES OF THE LORD BUT ALSO IN THE EYES OF MEN." 2 CORINTHIANS 8:21
Paul asked Titus and a "diligent brother" to deliver a gift to its destination in Jerusalem. Paul's motivation in organizing this collection from the Macedonian churches was to honor the Lord. He scrupulously worked to avoid bringing any disrepute on His name through charges of mismanagement. Therefore, he selected individuals who were highly respected, honorable and zealous.
As we approach our daily duties in our homes or at our workplace, do we take extra precautions to do what is right. Those around us observe what we do and how we respond in difficult situations.
As a mother, my children are constantly weighing "what I do" on one end of the scale with "what I say" on the other. What they see may be what I get!
At work, my coworkers, boss and clients evaluate "who I am" by "what I do". Do I work with high integrity? Am I cooperative? Am I zealous? Do I avoid bringing any disrepute on my name? Do I avoid bringing any disrepute on Jesus' name?
If others are to see Christ in me, then I must be able to answer yes to these questions.
As you go about your day, remember "seeing is believing". Allow those around you to see Christ in you.
