KEEP GOING AND GOING AND GOING

LET US NOT BECOME WEARY IN DOING GOOD, FOR AT THE PROPER TIME WE WILL REAP A HARVEST IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP." GALATIANS 6:9

My boat is loaded and I feel as if I am sinking. Not only do I have a full time job, a full time household with 3 full time children and a full time husband, but as a Christian, I also have a full time ministry.

When I think of my missionary friends who persevere year after year in full time work for the Lord, I am humbled. Month after month, year after year, they write and request prayer and give praise for those who come to know Christ.

Then there is me. I get impatient with someone at work or a student in our youth ministry who remains closed to accepting Christ's redemptive grace.

Paul tells us in Galatians that he too gets frustrated in his ministry, but encourages us, as he did the Galatian Christians, not to give up. The harvest is sure. The reaping will come at God's proper time. This may be only in part in this life and in full in the life to come at the judgement seat of God.

In summary, he tells us to "keep going and going and going" like the Energizer bunny. Unlike the battery-operated toy, we know that our power source will never become depleted. God is there to continually provide for us the tools, the strength, and the encouragement to "keep us going". We will see the harvest in full one day.

Although my boat may feel like it's sinking with so much to do, I can continue to sow the seeds and allow God in His proper time to reap the harvest.

    Joy
