"Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
At work, it is not always easy to please others. It helps to remember that God is your boss...
At more than one time in my career, my boss has been my husband. Good and bad! He expected more from me, since he knew my capabilities and understood my thought processes. We did share common goals. And I certainly wanted to please him, knowing we would be going home happy with each other, or not. The pay was meager. So was the praise in public. That had to wait until home.
This is even more true with God as your boss. He knows your capabilities and expects a lot from you. But He also knows the workings of your heart. He knows how hard you try, and when you mess up you do not have to explain or make excuses. There will be a second chance. Our goals are common. And I certainly want to please God more than men.
If I can please God, will it be easier to please others? Not always. My earthly pay check soon be spent. God's benefits are out of this world when God is my Boss
