Whatever I do, worked with all of my heart...
A matter of commitment right from the start.
I invited Jesus into my heart, to stay,
although I preferred to run things my way.
Imagine that - my heart was Christ's home! *
He desired full reign, freedom to roam.
I welcomed Him in.
The perfect house guest.
But I knew, for me, how to manage things best.
I was content with old habits, old hang outs, old friends,
old movies, old books, a list without ends.
His offer to dust, clean, throw out the rubbish,
sweep the cobwebs, completely refurbish,
was met with merely a polite mutter.
I rather liked the clutter,
until truth pricked my heart.
I must give Jesus permission
to act as Lord of my life.
A willing submission.
Then whatever I do, worked with all of my heart,
will be for the Lord, not for men.
