BLESSINGS OF YOUR INHERITANCE

Somedays, I wonder if there is a single blessing in my life. The kids complain, my husband is cranky, my patience is thin and my job is less than "satisfying". Then, I realize that I am looking for my blessings in the wrong place. It is easy to focus on the physical blessings when in reality spiritual blessing are more valuable.

Read the incredible statements made in Ephesians 1:3-7 about believers in Jesus Christ. The words "us" and "we" have been omitted. Place your name in the blanks and read the passage aloud.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed ___________ in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose __________ in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined to be adopted as His sons (daughter) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will--to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given ___________ in the One He loves. In Him ________ has redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

Count the blessing you have inherited in these verses:

1. Every spiritual blessing in Christ

2. To be holy in His sight

3. To be blameless in His sight

4. To be adopted as His son (daughter)

5. Freely given glorious grace

6. Redemption

7. Forgiveness of sins

Whether or not you feel your physical blessings have been abundant or depleted, remember always the richest blessings of all are spiritual. They are part of your inheritance. A gift not to be left unopened or refused.

May each day be one of incredible blessings.
